Surface treatment technology of die casting die
Through the rigorous and reasonable technical treatment of the die casting surface, its performance and life can be greatly improved.
 
 
 
Die casting die surface treatment technology can be divided into three broad categories.
 
Traditional heat treatment technology improvement technology;
 
Surface modification technology, such as surface laser treatment technology;
 
Coating technology.
 
 
 
1. The traditional heat treatment technology is improved.
 
The traditional heat treatment process of die casting die is quenching and tempering. The improved technology of the so-called traditional heat treatment process is the combination of quenching and tempering with advanced surface treatment.
 
For example, NQN (carbonitriding, quenching and carbonitriding), the surface hardness of the die is higher, the internal strength is increased, the hardness gradient of the layer is reasonable, the tempering stability and corrosion resistance are improved, and the comprehensive performance and service life are greatly improved.
 
 
 
2. Surface modification technology.
 
Surface modification technology refers to the use of physical or chemical methods to change the surface properties of the mold. Generally, there are two kinds of surface heat, expansion, seepage and surface laser processing.
 
The surface heat, diffusion and infiltration technologies include carburizing, nitriding, boronizing, carbonitriding, sulfur carbonitriding and so on. Carburizing helps to strengthen the hardness of the surface of the die.
 
The carburizing process includes solid powder carburizing, gas carburizing, vacuum carburizing and ion carburizing.
 
Vacuum carburizing and ion carburizing, fast penetration, uniform permeability, slow carbon concentration gradient and small workpiece deformation.
 
The nitriding process is simple, the nitrided layer of the die has high hardness, good abrasion resistance and good anti sticking performance.
 
Boronizing promotes surface performance most obviously, and the die hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and adhesion resistance are obviously improved, but the technological conditions are severe.
 
Laser processing of mold surface is a technology that has risen in the past thirty years, improving the surface properties of dies in two ways.
 
One is the laser melts the surface of the mold, then it is combined with carburizing, nitriding, coating and other processes. Another way is to combine laser surface processing technology with some metal excipients with good physical properties to make them melt into the surface of die casting dies.
 
 
 
3. Coating technology.
 
Coating technology is to wear a coating on the surface of the mold to wear a layer of protective clothing, such as polytetrafluoroethylene composite plating, the main purpose is to enhance the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and cold and heat resistance.
